Yes, it's amazing that those people you noted are just out for themselves, by using government. I'll never get why some of the regular people out there will vote for them. 🤔It's very disheartening. 🥺Good luck to you in your campaign.
Well penned dear friend. Best of luck Trygves . My email is 70-100 a day asking for donations as if money would fix ,elect ,or solve. I can’t compete with the billionaires serving their own interests.
My $5 regular monthly supports as many as possible .
I’m happy to see people getting a grip and the polls reflecting waking up. The con game has lasted far too long.
Ms Davis, it's like that for the vast majority of us. As I always say, if I gave the minimum requested donation to every organization I myself consider very worthy, I'd go broke fast.
And I not only don't believe in large private donations in politics, I don't believe in any private money in politics. I've been stalwart until this year, when I donated to several candidates. Bowman and Bush lost anyway, so I'm essentially back to not donating to candidates. Would I reconsider just one more time for Hammer? Maybe. I won't like it, but I'll think about it, as the days tick by, quickly.
I totally agree with what Trygve talks about. I do believe that being any type of representative of ND & USA's government, should be for all the people, not just those with the money to buy off or influence any government officials. I know everyone has their own beliefs & they are entitled to them. I do not believe that it is right to force those beliefs on others. Nor should our government be able to force morals on anyone. If you live your life how you want, then everyone should be able to live their lives as they see fit as well. No one should be above the law. Good Luck in your campaign.
Mr Hammer, I should add that abortion is not an issue about women as much as it's an issue about people. Sexual intimacy is vastly more common than is pregnancy, because no one wants a pregnancy to result the vast majority of the time, and one or both parties take precautions to prevent it. I would confidently venture to say that an unwanted pregnancy (they're almost all unwanted, compared to the frequency of sexual intimacy) experienced by the woman is reported to the man, who agrees that no one wants the responsibility and obligation of a child at that time under those circumstances. And besides, the unhappily pregnant woman would like the male involved to help pay for the abortion.
If this were not the case, most unions would be mostly sexless, or couples would have about 15-20 children, representing every time the couple are in the mood, and the woman is fertile.
It's our political system that corrupts anyone who stays in it for long, or it ejects them. Corporate donations and dark money control who is elected and who is chosen as candidates. Our electeds spend half their time sucking up to big money donors. That's who they talk to, not to us voters. Since the Lewis Powell memo back in the 70s the corporate coup d'etat has been in progress. All three branches of government are now under corporate control. The Ukraine war and the Israeli genocidal attacks on Gaza and now Lebanon which are underwritten with tax payer money and against the will of most Americans is the best evidence of this. Americans want peace and single payer health care but our corporate overlords want war and continued medical bankruptcies.
